When posting anonymous? What is giving it away?

English spelling of Hebrew words says a lot about a poster. (An anonymous troll was once identified that way)

So if someone is writing shulem then you are assuming she is Chassidish but if the same person is writing shalom then you are assuming she is litvish? Can't people change their way of spelling?

Of course people can if they’re trying to hide their identity. I’m talking about those who are not trying to hide this part of their background just don’t want to post under their SN.
Why would somebody take the name shalom from the Ami and change it to shulem intentionally? I’m sure that was her legit pronunciation.

It's never a single word or spelling.

It's the context and the vibe that gives people away.
And that, no one can change, OP.

You can sometimes tell if someone is chassidish based on their style of English writing- it's certain sentence structure things, I can't think of an example off the top of my head. But yeshivish vs MO vs JPF? usually not

On the other hand, writing Hebrew words in English most often takes on the litvish spelling so even chassidish people will write sukkos, for example, even if IRL they pronounce it the chasidish way.

No, but if someone "is writing" and "are assuming" instead of "writes"/"wrote" and "assume", I'll go with Chassidish. No offense OP, but when it's obvious, it's obvious. Hiding

I had no idea what that word was or ment. I'm accustom to being lost here so I just skipped it.
Clearly, I am not chassidish and I don't speak Yiddish or yeshivish.

can you explain how someone spelling this phrase this way made you think they were a troll? This is how it would be spelled in english for many.
