Etta is a secular name as well - Etta James was a black blues singer.

I’ve also seen it as a shortened nickname for Henrietta.

Gorgeous name!
I know several people with the name. They all go by Etty. And they all have a classiness and character which I adore!

I don't know the meaning.

I know three Ettels, all of whom go by Ettie.
If you want something more original, I like:
Ellie or Tillie.

My Ettel is Ettie , Etsi, etsel pretzel, pretzi, Betsy....

We really love Ettie - she has two other names (common Hebrew names like Esther Leah Ettel) and she goes by Ettie as our choice.

My husband spells it Etty and I spell it Ettie. We’ll see who wins that one. She’s 2.

Lettie? Random "L" but still kinda connected. Old-fashioned names like Lettie are apparently becoming trendy again.
