There's a 'tradition' in some circles to make cinnamon buns on Tisha B'av because it takes a long time, keeps you busy patchkeing, is delicious after the fast. Some people can't stomach the idea of working with food on a fast day and some people love it.

Yeah that’s a Facebook/Instagram thing. I don’t mind cooking in and of it’s felt but I’ve never felt well enough to do anything. I even prepared my kids meals in advance so there’s no cooking there and I can get back to bed

After a fast you need light easy foods on the stomach. I'm serving onion soup, fish and rice. I would do eggs but I find that's more work than baking fish.
I think all this comparison doesn't do anyone any favors. If the people eating the food are happy with the food, eat and enjoy.

Are all you ppl who are preparing such yummy foods, fasting??

Gone are the days when I can cook and bake yummy foods for after , if Im fasting.

I did this when I was a girl and newly married. We have whatever there is.
I think we have cake and biscotti from shabbos and chocolate.

Im not up to making any more food.
It is what it is.

But all these menu options are making me soo hungry...

That's one reason why I do eggs. I sauteed the vegetables before Shabbos, and then heated them up just before the end of the fast. I added the eggs to the pan before havdallah, and by the time we'd made havdallah and had a drink they were ready. Delicious food with almost no effort involved.

Maybe this is a Sephardi/ashkenazi divergence.
Any halacha columns and queries I've read said this year (nidche) everything is ok tonight except meat/wine/,music--all that needs to wait till tomorrow morning. So as everything else, AYLOR.

There was a psak from the local beis din here that said laundry, showering are permitted motza taanis , but music, and eating meat and wine should wait till mon morning.

Hmm would love to have my chicken soup leftovers tonight...

I read that we don't need to wait until chatzot like normal, but after a day of mourning it isn't appropriate to be eating meat. Theres a lot of room for different opinions.
