Soooo this is a combination cleaning and parenting advice!

DS8 keeps picking his nose and wiping it on the wall near his bed… first of all, it’s so hard to clean!! Any advice on getting it off??? It’s really gross!

Second, how do I get this to stop? He already has a box of tissues right by his bed, and he knows it’s germs and not socially acceptable (he doesn’t do it when others are around…).

Any and all advice appreciated!

Haha, I did that too and I learned from the Internet that it's actually very common.

I once was by a family friend for a shabbos meal and I needed to nurse my baby so they told me to go into the child’s room. There was a whole collection of boogers on the wall and they have full time help. I was so grossed out. I guess you’re not alone lol

One of my siblings did it growing up also! Any ideas for me?

No clue how long DS was doing it. He’s on a top bunk bed and generally the cleaning lady changes his linens. I went up recently and found this…artwork! For all I know he has been doing it for a couple years Banging head 🙈

Would help to hang a poster in that spot? It could be it's a habit/convenience at this point- he's just used to doing it. If there's a large poster blocking his spot, he might reach for a tissue once he's reaching anyway

Or he will just use that poster and you can replace as needed?.... TMI

I plan to have him help but I need to figure out hire to actually accomplish the task first! We tried spraying and wiping the area to no avail.

I make them clean it, I don’t help. Once they see how hard it is they usually do it less.
Water should soften up so it will come off if wet for a few minutes.

Maybe a handheld steam cleaner? erither one meant for cleaning, or one meant for clothes.

Amazing (and gross!) we will try tomorrow!

I don’t think that an inspirational picture will work for him…he has ADHD and is pretty impulsive in general so I totally see how this happened.

That’s smart. I don’t have one, but would borrow if the YouTube method doesn’t work.

Thanks for all the ideas ladies!

Not sure but I heard saline solution works better than water
Have him do it
Put up paper and have him responsible to throw it out, but at least it’s not on the wall

I can check and see if I have any saline floating around the house. Thank you!
