Fill a small basin or sink with lukewarm water. Add a squirt of dishwashing detergent, shampoo, body wash, or a liquid made for hand laundry. Swish it around to dissolve. Immerse the items in the water, swish them around a few times and squeeze the suds through the fabric. Use an old toothbrush to scrub any especially dirty spots. As an alternative, skip the detergents and use a plain bar soap like Ivory; wet the bar, rub it on the fabric, and proceed as above.

Drain the water out and rinse the items in lukewarm or cold water. If using bar soap, check that no specks of soap are stuck to the fabric. Once the water runs clear and no suds remain, hang to drip dry on a smooth plastic hanger in the shower.

Back when I had four under four, a fulltime job and an hour and a quarter commute each way, I did everything I could to save time. That included doing hand laundry in the shower. One day I got the brilliant notion of washing undies while I was still wearing them. No.No.No. The feel of wet undergarments clinging to skin is revolting. That includes bras. You wouldn't think so, since they cling to your skin anyway, but don't take my word on this. Try it yourself and see.

If you wash Wired without the mesh bags they get mishshaped and don’t last as well

I wash mine on the delicate cycle (not in a bag) and hang to dry.
