Question, I just got a Bosch
It came with a white bowl and metal dough hook .
Do I need the silver bowl to make challah or can I make it in the white bowl?

You can use the white bowl but it's recommended to buy the challah bowl.
I got a bosch last chanukah. I'm really happy with it.

My stainless bowl broke a whole ago & I've been making challah dough in the regular bowl. I don't see or feel a difference in the dough or challah.

You can definitely use the plastic bowl. the metal one is stronger, apparently you can make a bigger dough in the metal one than in the plastic one. I've been using my Bosch with the plastic bowl weekly for over 17 years, never had any problems.

You are lucky.
Are you making a full 5lb bag of flour? 16-18 cups.
My machine broke after 4.5 years. The challah I made in the white bowl was just as good as any other, but the machine did not hold up.
I wish I would have spent the money back then on the stainless bowl. Now, I had to buy the entire machine new instead.
Yes, you can certainly make challah in the white bowl, but for most people, the machine will last longer if you make the challah in the stainless bowl.
The stainless bowl and the hook for it knead the dough from the bottom.
The white bowl kneads from the top.
Somehow, the motor is being used differently.
