I only sleep on firm mattresses, I hate soft mattresses.

But the ones I just got are like sleeping on wood.

I cant blame the storekeeper, he told me theyre the firmest mattresses he sells.

I know theyre good quality, but even for me, theyre too hard.

I need a little more give on top.

What can I buy to put on top of my mattress to give me a softer (but not too soft) feel?

Is there no 7 day trial that you can change them quickly for something else?

I thought I wanted firm mattresses and when I tested them out at the shop I realized I don't like super firm mattresses, I just don't like saggy mattresses. But definitely need something semi firm but s/t that still gives softness.

You should exchange the mattresses for the type that will be more comfortable for you.

No place I dealt with had a return policy. I’m actually looking for a place that does- sleeping on mattresses we don’t like for 5 years already.

Op try a memory foam topper.

OMG.

The new mattresses are much higher than my old one, I need a stepstool to get on, with no topper.

If I buy a topper, Ill need a big ladder.

I don't know what your bedframe is like, but if you put your boxspring straight on the floor, without resting it on a frame first, would that drop the height down a bit?

It would, but I imagine theres a reason people use bed frames.

Isn't the main point of a bedframe to get your bed to a comfortable height? If it's instead making it an uncomfortable height, you can get rid of it. Unless you could change the legs to be shorter without getting rid of it altogether?

We found out that they have much thinner box spring options for the higher mattresses, and the place we got it was willing to exchange ours at no charge. It makes a big difference.

To lower the bed, or for another reason? Or maybe you have fancy box springs that are made to be used with no frame?
