Is there a source for this? I know we say it on a. Specific date for a zechus but is it a "thing" to say it for 40 days?

Don't have a source. I know it's a segulah for parnassah. Doesn't hurt to try.

I’ve said it basically every day since 2009. B”H. See the segula for someone who says it every day (written in Hebrew in small print in the Siddur).
