Honey Chicken:

¾ cup honey

¼ cup soy sauce

¼ cup olive oil

1 T garlic powder

1 tsp black pepper

Mix above ingredients together and pour over chicken bottoms or cutlets. Bake on 375 for 1 hour or until ready.

I know this is an older thread but if you can answer me, do you bake it covered or uncovered?

Thank you!

Uncovered. I think this is a Quick & Kosher recipe. (I leave out the olive oil as I like a thicker sauce, and because I find that baked chicken does not need oil.)

I think most are for chicken bottoms with skin. Any without would probably specify.
It's a personal preference though.

If I have patience, I pull back the skin and add some seasoning underneath, besides for what's on top.
If not, just pour ingredients over chicken.
And if I don't have time to clean the chicken really well, I just buy the skinless chicken, and then the cleaning is very minimal.

Ra_mom, it takes an hour for the cutlets to bake? What side dishes go well with it?

This recipe is for chicken bottoms with skin Smile
If you're ok with using soup mixes, I like a sticky short grain brown rice that's baked in the oven.
Or wild rice with craisins (no soup mix) which is sweet and salty.
If I'm doing an oven main dish, then I like to do an oven side dish as well.
If you need recipes, let me know.

The exact Honey Chicken preparation directions are as follows:
Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Rinse chicken, pat dry and place in prepared pan.
In a small bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, and pepper and pour over chicken.
Bake, uncovered, at 375, for 1 hour until slightly browned.

I decided to make it for supper too, however, I took off the skin (noone likes it) and I covered it because I don't want to make my oven flieshigs.

A very well known chicken dish here in Israel is Bisli Chicken, it's delicious and my kids love that they get to eat bisli for dinner!

Mix equal parts of honey, mustard and mayo and spread over the chicken (I use pieces with the skin)
Smash a packet of onion bisli and pour over the chicken with mixture
Bake uncovered until the chicken is cooked - if you see that the chicken needs more time but the bisli is starting to get too brown cover until the chicken is done

So, if I do it w/ cutlets, can it be cut down to around 30 min?

I'd love recpies for oven side dishes. So much easier!

I only make easy chicken hardly ever use ready made sauces (we live in Israel) except for sweet chili sauce that could basically be added to anything.

1
3 tbs ketchup
3 tbs soy sauce
3 tbs brown sugar (jam or honey can be substituted for variety)
1 tbs garlic
1/4 cup water
mix well and cover the chicken

2
equal parts mustard and honey (you can substitute with brown sugar)
a bit of white wine
- mix well and coat the chicken
3
OVEN BAKED SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN
marinate chicken in sweet chili sauce, garlic, lemon or wine - if you don't have the sauce don't worry - overnight
combine flour (you can use ww matza meal bread crumbs or a combination) with seasoning (garlic, pepper some salt, and whatever you like) in a large plastic bag.
pour olive oil into a bowl dip chicken into oil then into the flour mixture place in baking pan.

4
EASY BARLEY CHICKEN
marinate chicken in choice marinade (ketchup and some garlic will do)
slice two onions and place on bottom of baking dish
add - 1 cup barely
2 cups water
1/2 cup white wine
season to taste
on top of this add the chicken - bake covered for an hour then half an hour uncovered.
Works just as well with rice or orzo (use less liquid for orzo).

5
pour a tomato based sauce on top of the chicken and bake. I make my own - crushed tomatos with garlic, herbs/italian spices and some olive oil.
