What's a suitable side dish next to lasagna? DH loves lasasgna but I hate making it for lack of accompaniment. Any ideas?

about the only thing I care to eat with lasagna is a nice salad with big pieces of leafy green lettuce, cherry tomato, cucumber, red onion tossed with olive oil and lemon, salt with some oregano..
IMHO don't think lasagna needs a side in addition to this, especially in summer!

Also green salad. If you need something else stay away from potato or starch.
Melon or other fresh fruit
Eggplant, zucchini, squash
Olives, pickle, etc
The rule is light and preferably cold

pudding.
If yu put spinach & mushroms & sautted onions in the lasagne itself, you don't really need a side dish.

sauteed with garlic and soy sauce fresh string beans
ceaser salad
or soup as others mentioned.

I ended up making a caeser salad and it was the perfect dinner. Thanks everyone for your wonderful suggestions.
