Mirel is a Yiddish name. Meryl is an English one.
I know several Mirel.

I know a Miril. With the first "I" pronounced as a short "I"
It's a yiddish name--I'm not sure what it means.
I've also heard the name "meril" as a yiddish name where it sounds like a short "e"--a different sound. (It sounds like Meryl--as in Meryl Streep...)
I think this name has the letter ayin after the mem. I think this is a different name than "miril" but I really have no idea. Nor do I know what it means....

Merelle is french/belgian for Mireleh which is short for Mira or for Miriam.
