It's been 4 weeks now since I fractured my arm, for 4 weeks it was in a splint and ace.. don't ask why.

I was by the dr yesterday hoping that great, I'll have it off and be done with it... I was somehow managiong to do things though maybe too much.

well the dr decided to put a FULL cast on my lower arm for another 4 - 5 weeks!! it obviously wasn't healing. I'm going out of my mind, I'll probably be like this till rosh hashana...

I have so much to do, and now it's even harder for me to do things...

now I feel like a prisoner to this cast for the next 4 weeks... maybe the dr should have just had me handcuffed and jailed for 4 weeks!!

just venting, this is gonna be a tough 4 weeks!

thanks..

you know what was so crazy? the dr who happens to have worked at hadassa but is retired now, kept asking me if I was sure it was only a fall and that no one beat me up....

I was like yeah what do you think, if I was beaten up, the police would have been in the picture by now...

I think he got suspicious because of my previous elbow break.. I'm just glad he didn't call them down...

although at that time years ago, I was like interrogated for hours, because no one wanted to accept the " it happened by itself"

I broke my wrist in my 8th month of pregnancy with a 20 month old to handle, diaper, and feed. I'll never forget how hard it was. It was my left wrist, and realized how you need your left hand to hold in while you work with your right hand. The dr told me right away it will be at least 6 wks of cast. Refia shelima and remember even when they remove the cast your arm will be weak. chazak and feel better.

Oy ow! I remember breaking my right thumb and for weeks I couldn't brush my hair, apply deodorant, and close my bra! Devastating when it's intimate stuff that you just DONT want to be helped with. Feel good, it's nearly over.

I can so relate. I am only 2 weeks after taking off my sling after wearing it for 7 weeks. One week since injury till surgery, then 6 weeks post surgery. I am still in pain, and still can't do too much, although, I am doing alot more than the doctor allows. But hang in there, it does end eventually. I remember going to my doctor a week after surgery, and testing the waters by asking, how long I have to wear the sling. 6 weeks sounded like forever. But he was very stern in the 6 weeks. Refuah Shleima. Gam ze yavor.
