I also wonder if your shuls provide a kiddush that is substantial? You're not suppose to fast on a YT...

ironically - one should not eat before tekiyos ... yet there is a 10 minute kiddush - totally not substantial with cake and soda - right before shofar ...

as for me - usually I bring something to eat such as a banana, yogurt and honey cake ... otherwise I would pass out ...
I am pretty sure the not-fasting-past-chatzos rule does not apply to rosh hashana.

I got a psak to eat a small amount (I think it was more than a kizayis, but less than four) because I am expecting, and get very weak if I dont eat for too long.

I didn't go to shul. I finished shacharis the first day at 10.00 and musaf at 2.00, if anyone's interested. The second day I finished shacharis at 11.00 and never got to musaf. Sad

DH was at his rebbe for YT. They finished the first day at 5.30 and the second day.....at 7.30. shock They started both days at 7.30.

The minute I sit down on the couch or open a book I start nodding off... it's hard to fight sleep on RH... good thing dh came home at 5! there was no time to fight sleep.

Wow! I can't believe how long these davenings are! I guess Lubavitch goes much quicker? (Since when does that happen??) My shul started around 9ish and finished before 2.

I didn't go to shul because I was home with the kids.

Dh came home at 6pm the 1st day.

Dh came home at 7pm the 2nd day.

I'm not sure which was worse - the 1st day was earlier, but no going out bec of shabbos & my baby doesn't walk- the 2nd day we went out, but it was a REALLY long day.

mamabear I napped on the couch- dh said after chatzos it's ok as long as not sleeping for real in bed.

My husband davened Vasikin, not involved in what time he left, but he was home 10.30 on Shabbos and 10.45 on Sunday.
Highly recommeded LOL I actually got to go to Shul like a woman (AKA alone) both days for a good hour. What a treat.
Hope he does it again Yom Kippur so he can help me out during the longer break.
