I'm a teacher looking to transition into college guidance. My preliminary research has only turned up jobs requiring experience in the field (I have high school classroom experience but not college guidance) and quite a few that require a masters specifically in counseling or in higher ed or administration (my masters is in secondary education). Does anyone know how I can get a foot in the door? I can't get another degree. Is it possible for a teacher to transition just from teaching? Where do I look? My school doesn't have a college guidance dept, so no one to ask there.

Maybe your school would be interested in starting a college guidance dept.
Where do you live? Maybe a frum school that isn't so particular about exact qualifications would hire you.
Or starting somewhere as a volunteer might help (if you are able to do this)
I am not in this field at all just brainstorming. Good luck
