Raish-Ches-Lamed-Yud.

Since it's transliterated into English, there is no "official" spelling. Simply take the spelling that you like. Just be consistent.

(Note: I have three relatives who are named "Tzivya," "Tzivia" and "Tzivyah.")

Tammy (for which there is only one spelling).

you can spell your daughter's name how you like ... your fun ... your decision ... so long as it's a normal name that she won't worry about later ... and you have chosen a beautiful name ... Mr. Green not to confuse you ... but another spelling could be rachaley - rachailey - rachelie - rachelee

hey tammy tammy ... tamy tammie ... however one chooses over there too Wink

my son and bro have the same name ... spelled 2 dif ways ...

I have never seen my name spelled any other way. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, of course... but I was pretty sure that my way was the only "standard" way.

Tammy

My son's name has two spellings. I just assumed it would be one way, DH assumed the other. We never talked about it. I was the one who filled out the Birth Certificate form. Oops. Smile

Tammy, is that your hebrew name? As in Tema? I have a friend and that's her name, but she spells it Temi. And she used to correct me all the time when I used to call her Tammy, with the emphasis on the "a". It's Temi, with short "e". LOL

I think these are two different names. One is Tamar and one is Tema. I also thought Tammi originates from Tamar but I might be wrong here and it might be just a third version to this name.

I love the name Racheli and spell it with one "L" I've seen it spelled with two. I guess it's your decision Smile .

just curious the middle name seems to be a diiferent name altogether.
I have a sister Tzviya=pronounced Tzvi-ya, and a sister in law with the name Tzivya=pronounced Tziv-ya.
regardless as to how they are spelled, it is two different names.

are your relatives one or the other or both?

for me both are family names and I wouldn't use either because I wouldn't want to have to pick from such similar names which family is going to be insulted, and although it is allowed my husband's name is Tzvi and I wouldn't be comfortable.

I would write Raheli, because in France Rachel = rashel, while Rahel = ra'hel LOL

I write my dd's nickname Mati, but my grandmother insists on writing it MatHi because she fears she will forget the H when writing Mathilde when she'll be older LOL LOL
