Unfortunately, some do. Presumably not by attending church services G-d forbid but in other ways. One of the most nauseating is, in a mixed marriage, "celebrating both traditions" by topping the tree with a six-pointed star. My dh worked with a couple who identified as ethnically Jewish but celebrated Xmas. It's possible their maternal grandmother wasn't Jewish, but they do consider themselves Jewish. However, they know absolutely nothing about Judaism beyond bagels and babka.
