I used to always get stomach aches as a kid as a sign of strep. That's how my mom always knew I had strep.
Once I was giving my son a bath and he had a rash on his back. We brought him to the doctor the next day. He was completely fine otherwise. I insisted on a strep test. The nurse kept insisting he was fine until the rapid test turned positive and her jaw dropped.
I've had preschool students simply act off with no other symptoms. One mom took her son straight from school to the doctor for a strep test when I told her and sure enough it was positive.
