Guess what mommies also need time out sometimes. Make an announcement that you are going to your room for a 5 minute time out until everyone stops whining! If they need something they have to wait till your time out is up and ask without any whining whatsoever.

I used this method to stop tantrumming. When DS would tantrum I would lock myself in the
bathroom and read magazines and listen to the radio until DS stopped screaming.
I was attacked as "abandoning" my DS, but this method works great.
