My baby is 20 months old and has always been a terrible sleeper. He still wakes up at night. Anyway he typically takes a nap every day. Problem is after his nap he can be up for eight hours till he’s ready to go to bed for the night! That’s seems very long to me but he doesn’t seem tired before then. So for instance today he woke up at 6:30. Napped 11-1 and I won’t even attempt to put him to bed before 9:00😬
What time do you think he should be Going go bed at night?

No no no. If he’s up at 6:30 then 6:30 is an ideal bedtime. What happens when you put him to bed earlier than 8 hours? (That seems very long. Most babies would be more like 5-6 hours) can you move his nap earlier? (10am?)

Wake time for that age is 5/6 hours. If he wakes at 6:30, perhaps he's ready for a nap at 10/10:30 and bed for the night at 6:30-7. Did you try putting him earlier?

He would probably scream if I’d put him in earlier. He just doesn’t seem tired which is strange to me cuz it’s a long time. Maybe I’ll try to put him in a little earlier for a few nights and gradually move it earlier and earlier?

I would cap his nap at 12:30 pm and put him to bed at 730.

I have kids that need less sleep than others.
Maybe try shorter naps
