Working on scheduling a 3 day vacation to Banff. Has anyone been there recently and can suggest a nice hotel?

We stayed in the Falcon Crest lodge in Canmore which is close to Banff.
We had an apartment, so we were able to bring meals from N.Y. and heat them up.
We went in August, so it was full of frum people

Is it worth it to go with little kids? Or lots of hiking necessary?

There is chabad house there now with the Chabad Rabbi offering kosher catered food. Look it up when you get there. The shiluchim are amazing people, I know them well.
Chabad of the Rockies

There are also many regular hotels and suites that won't break the bank there. Search air bnbs.
Canmore is right outside banff and beautiful too and a little cheaper to stay.

Hi,
I went in the winter and it was BEAUTIFUL! We would love to go back in the summer but have a 14m so don’t think that’s happening. We stayed at Tunnel Mountain Resort in the center of town. They have different options but we took a cute little cabin. We took along Betty crockers for meals. We stopped at Walmart straight from the airport to buy food basics. There’s also a decent supermarket in banff.
For breakfast we had pancakes (frozen pancake mix), eggs, salad, bread. Tuna and peanut butter for lunch. Supper we took along sous vide meat and chicken which needed minutes on the Betty. We bought sides at Walmart like potatoes, string beans…
Activities I can’t really help you with cuz we did winter activities like skiing and dog sledding. We watched a lot of YouTube videos to find things to do.

I started to look into this as well. Staying in Banff for a house three bedrooms is about $1000 a night.
Looking in Canmore the cheapest is about 600 a night.
This is in August.
Is this to be expected?
It’s really beautiful and I want to go there. I just didn’t wanna have to spend so much money. Thanks.

airbnb has so many options for super cheap and well rated.
you need to be careful to read reviews properly before booking but they are often good clean cabins/homes etc.

I looked in Airbnb and VRBO. For a house that it’s at least three bedrooms I couldn’t find anything under 600 in Canmore.
