I hate to be the party pooper but Jews over generations have paid with their lives for this joke. And if we think that all those non jews who are laughing at it today are so innocent and wouldn't go out there and hurt us if the need be well we just might be very wrong. I think it takes a very low Jewish self esteem to laugh at this clip

well, what should I say, I'm very proud of being jewish and I feel very insulted when someone makes such jokes. Don't go opening a can of worms. There's enough anti semitism in the world today as it is, we don't need anymore of that. Yes, my pride is standing in the way of accepting this as sarcasm

It's not that I don't understand the bit of discomfort one can feel when watching this, wondering what the non jews in the audience think. I think it's two separate things - is this appropriate for a gentile audience and is this funny.

Jews especially are known for self-deprecating humor. Sometimes self-deprecating humor stems from negative feelings about oneself, sometimes it's a way of defusing hostility or other negative emotions.
