Scranton has a nice train museum, and a pretty park called Nye Agh (sp?). A bit farther away is an amazing place called Ricketts Glen State Park, with around 20 waterfalls. There are several cheapish hotels in the area.

The park is called nay aug.
The treai museum is Steamtown National Historic Site. Its right near the Trolley museum.
There is also a Coal Mine Tour, Houdini Museum, Museum of Anthracite.
Hotels are about a 1 mile walk from shul. There is a bed and breakfast (not cheap) right around the corner from 1 shul. 2 hotels are inside the eruv. Not sure of their pricing. One is a Hilton and 1 Radisson.

Thanks, forgot about the coal mine tour and Houdini Museum - both lots of fun. For hotels, there's also a Sheraton which is around the corner from the yeshiva. It's a somewhat different part of town than where the shuls are, but if you're just looking for a minyan, it will certainly do the job, and it's probably cheaper than the Hilton. What's the name of the B&B?

No restaurants. There's a coop/grocery store, which may have some take-out (?), but you should plan on bringing your own food.

25 minutes away in Kingston there is a new kosher pizza shop. They have limited hours but serve great food!

Google maps says 10-15 minutes (each way) from the two Scranton shuls as well as the yeshiva.

10-15 minutes is about right.

This one is much closer. 2 minute drive.

Limited hours means they are open 2 days a week. Sunday from noon-8pm and thursday from 5pm-9pm.

They are closed for now, not sure when they are reopening. Some technical difficulties.

But they do have good food.

There is also a chabad that makes and delivers food.

The kosher grocery does not have any takeout, but they do have any kosher food you want.

The Houdini Museum is a must see. There should be a website with hours and admission.

There is: http://www.houdini.org/.

Excuse the really poorly-constructed web page. If you're able to get there when it's open and there's a show going on, you'll have a good time.

There's always a show going on. It's a 2 hour continuous tour. About 1 hour of that is a magic show.

Interesting, when we went (admittedly, many years ago), they had very limited hours. I believe they weren't open at all on certain days, and some days only by appointment, and only in the summer did they have more extended hours. Perhaps that's changed, although the website says that only in the summer are they open every day, and the rest of the year only on weekends.

Here is their website: https://www.baistzviyosef.com/kosher/

The grocery is located in 2-3 rooms of the yeshiva. Not a rea big grocery store...a small coop as part of the yeshiva.
