I don't understand. Every day I put ds in for a nap and every single day he cries! Why? I can't take the hysterical cries as I leave the room, especially when a minute or so later he's asleep? Why does he fight it? He's tired! Argh!

My kids all went through a stage like that too. It broke my heart that they would scream but I knew they'd be fine in a few seconds.

Thanks for responding. I just don't understand. He'll cry so horribly and seconds later, all is silent and he's asleep for B"H 1 1/2 hrs. why doesn't he just go down like at night? peacefully?

Could it be that he is overtired? My son does that sometimes when I put him in a little later than usual...

why?
cus he wants you...
he doesn't want to miss out on anything....

it doesn't matter to him if he's tired..
he is too young to decide what is best for himself.

(sometimes so are we.. haven't you ever forced yourself to stay up for a movie or something.... and then paid foe it the next day?)

if you decide that it is best for him to nap..
then I'd advise to to try what worked for my dd.

choose a consistent naptime.
put him to bed.
let him cry 5-10 minutes.
time it- it feels a lot longer.

good luck.
I'm dealing with baby sleep problems myself..
only mine are nightime sleep battles.

I hope it gets easier for u soon. Very Happy

He doesn't cry for 5-10 minutes, less that one minute! He just won't go down peacefully. As for being overtired? Maybe, but not too much, I usually put him in around 2- 2/2 hours after he woke up otherwise, it's too late and he won't go down at all.
