It's very normal for a teen to be embarrassed of parents in this sort of situation.
And I've had students who had parents teaching in our school and it was never a good situation. Either the kid was embarrassed, or the parent overstepped their boundaries by approaching their kid's teacher in an unprofessional as a friend rather than the normal parent/teacher relationship, or the kid ended up with an arrogant "I can behave however I want because my mother works here and I won't get in trouble"--which actually is very detrimental to the child's development.
Unless there is no choice, I wouldn't recommend it.
