I bought apricot preserves and it dropped and cracked. It's still intact but the top cover and bottom broke. Should I be nervous about glass of there's any inside?

Dump it. Broken glass you don't fool with. Though you can't see it, a sliver may have broken off anywhere and lodged in the jam. For $4.95 you're going to risk an emergency room visit?

I was once making a complicated recipe in food processor. I had separated the egg whites (or was it the yolks?) and was slowly pouring them into the other ingredients in food processor. The glass slipped from my hand and it cracked on the bowl, splitting in two in the mixing bowl. I still had the 2 halves of the glass but out of fear of a shard of glass still in there I threw out the whole thing. Its not worth the risk. I gave up on that attempted recipe - it took me a while before I tried it again.
