My period is 5-7 days late. My cycles are pretty consistent. I haven’t been this late in years. Can a new diet cause that? I’ve only been on a diet for a few days before my expected period so I should’ve ovulated before dieting. Doesn’t the period go by ovulation?

Yes - I 've found that eating habits do affect timing, length and heaviness of period. EG after a fast or if I eat too little may delay period.

Yes . Sometimes it completely skipped the first month or two on the diet and then went back to normal

When I was a teenager I starved myself for 2 weeks due to a trauma and I lost 10 lbs , I didn’t get my period for almost 6 months.

In seminary, I lost 10 lbs and was walking a ton all the time and my period disappeared for a year. (Not an eating disorder or intentionally dieting. Just adjusting to everything.)
