My son is starting a pretty serious high school soon. He’s working as a counselor for the next few weeks. The camp offers a morning learning program for the staff. He’s on the fence about going. I told him he might as well give it a try and see if he likes it. I even told him I’ll drive him so he doesn’t have to go on the bus with the campers. Question is should I keep encouraging it, giving him a slight push, or just let it go? Obviously I won’t make him go. I just think it’s good for him, and he’ll probably just play video games in the morning if he’s home. But I also know he’ll be working very hard once school starts in a few weeks, and maybe he can use this break. For reference, we’re not yeshivish, but not MO. I guess somewhere in between.
