My dd usually has a bowel movement once a day, max twice. Past few days she's pooping around 5 times including in middle of her sleep, which she's never done before.
She's also crying that her rectum hurts.
Anyone?
ETA she's 4 years old

I’d treat it like a stomach virus. Put her on the brat diet until she’s back to normal.

Best if only. But if you are doing mainly then take her off milk and milk products. For now put diaper cream on so she’ll feel relief.

It’s likely the start of a virus. It can start with pooping often and then turning to diarrhea.

In addition to going off dairy and the brat diet, I’d give her a children’s probiotic.

Update and PSA
After telling dh she's complaining of pain in the front also he said it's probably pinworms.
Lo and behold we caught 4 pinworms 
Weird cuz she's pooping often since Thursday. Tonight was only time she cried in pain.
