I'm surprised no one posted about storing water in huge tanks or tubs before Pesach and only using that stored water over Pesach. I don't keep it but I know people who do

But if it DOE have chametz on the peel, and you peel it on Pesach, isn’t that an issue? Or if you use your knife to cut through the peel?

As another poster already stated, garlic used to be grown in the same fields as wheat.

Come to BP. There are produce fridge shelves full of fresh peeled garlic in containers with KLP hechsher.

Only chicken. We dont eat meat during the year either.
Well technically we would if we could buy the kind of meat we eat. But its not sold in stores.

I guess things have changed since I moved out! I remember being looked at like a crazy person asking for peeled garlic for Pesach!

It's actually not in Shulchan Aruch harav, it's form the Tzemach Tzedek who assered it. He asssered it without a reason because the e felt strongly it shouldn't be use and didn't want it to only be the general rule but for it to be disregard for specific reasons/under certain circumstances when the reason for not doing/using something are known and can be weighed against the individual circumstance. I'm order to prevent this no reason was given

Gets into the water from where? The tap?

Aren't you taking the water from the tap anyway? If there's chametz in your tap water it'll be there before Pesach too, won't it?

From whatever reservoir it's coming from that might be open air

chometz in the water before Pesach is batel b-60. Chometz getting into the water on Pesach is not.

Not my minhag, but I'm familiar with it.
