What do you consider milestones and when?

The what is obvious, but the when, not so. I was writing where I write the milestones and my dd mentioned that the baby also walks from side to side while holding on. She said he did it once. I said that it doesn't count unless I see Wink LOL . So, that's the when. My whats are first and second tooth, sit, head up, roll over, etc... I never do first word because I never could figure it out Confused .
