Can anyone recommend books or other resources my daughter can use to learn how to better communicate with people?

She's struggling socially but I know girls like her, she just gets stuck in maintaining contact. Example, she'll be excited to see someone and say a huge hi how are you and then doesn't know what to say or ask to continue the conversation. She doesn't share much about herself, etc.

I'd recommend "how to win friends and influence people" by Dale Carnegie. It's very old and has a cringy title, but is an incredible easy read with some amazing and practical ideas.

Thanks, I looked it up and see there's a version for teen girls. Are you or anyone familiar with that one, as in is it clean for my daughter?

A review on amazon says it provides info on sx.
I wouldn’t want my daughter to get that type of Ed from a non frum author.
I’d love a Jewish version of this book.

Thanks so much, I missed that!
I'll get her the original it's probably safe as it was written in the 1930s or thereabouts. I'm just not sure she'll connect to the language but I'll try.

If there's anyone that can recommend something more current and clean and helpful I'd love to hear...

I’m a speech therapist and I recommend bringing your daughter to a speech therapist to see if she possibly has a pragmatic language (aka social skills) disorder. They can help teach your daughter how to engage in back-and-forth conversations.

Are all speech therapists trained in this?
Seems like something my DD needs.
Any recommendations in NY?

It’s within our scope of practice- I would ask the speech therapist that you speak with if she has a lot of experience dealing with pragmatic language disorders or not.

Sorry, I’m not from NY so don’t have any recs!

The original book is good. I wouldn’t recommend The newer versions because of inappropriate content.

Has anyone used a speech therapist for this and found that it made a big difference?
