If a coworker is leaving and finding a new one and then training will take time, what are my obligations? I only stay for x amount of hours and can only get x done per day, I can't do both our jobs.

Is there anything your Co worker does that is absolutely essential?
I work in bookkeeping. I put stuff into our local system so it rings up at the register. My coworker puts it into QuickBooks ... When she was off I had to learn how to do that essential bit.
So you might have to cut some of your regular work to cover for co-worker.
Ask your boss what is most essential.

It’s your boss’s call to decide what tasks to prioritize during the amount of time you have available. Sit down with them and have a realistic conversation about what you can and can’t take on. For example “I could take on coworker’s tasks A & B, but I’d need to stop doing my normal work on X & Y. Do you want me to do that or would you rather me focus on A & X, and leave B & Y alone for now?”. If you’re getting the sense that your boss wants you to do it all, be firm about what you can and can’t take on.
